Wide Range of Trade NVQs at CST Training

We offer a huge range of construction and trade National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) here at CST Training. If there is a trade skill you would like to solidify your knowledge in and gain a formal qualification, chances are you can do so through us. But what level of trade NVQs do we offer, and what’s involved in completing them? In today’s blog, we’ll be giving you some examples of trade NVQs you can complete here at CST Training, and the awarding bodies that we work with.

Level 2 Trade NVQs

Many of the most popular NVQs are Level 2. If you’re taking a Level 2 Trade NVQ, you should be experienced and carrying out standard duties on site. Throughout the course, whichever course you’re taking, you will be building a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your knowledge and experience.

One example of a Level 2 Trade NVQ is the Tiling course. Like with all courses offered here at CST Training, there are a whole host of benefits to completing this Trade NVQ. Whether you’re going to be continuing to work on-site, or you’re trying your hand at some freelance work, this NVQ will have you well on your way.

Another benefit of this NVQ and practically all of our NVQs is that you can complete it entirely remotely. That means you have full control over your learning, and you can work at your own pace without it interfering with your professional or personal life.

Level 3 Trade NVQs

When it comes to Level 3 Trade NVQs, you’ll be assessed on a wider range of tasks, and those tasks will be more complex. This level is designed to demonstrate the competency of an advanced skilled worker. In some cases you’ll need to hold the relevant Level 2 qualification before taking a Level 3 NVQ, but this depends on the specific NVQ.

One example of a Level 3 Trade NVQ is the Roofing course. Aimed at experienced roofers, this remote course can be completed in as little as 6 to 10 weeks.

Awarding Bodies with CST Training

With so many NVQs on offer, we work with a wide range of awarding bodies- and that’s not even counting the organisations who accredit our NVQs. Those include the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (ROSPA), the IATP (Independent Asbestos Training Providers), the IIRSM (International Institute of Risk and Safety Management), and the CPD (Continuing Professional Development).

As for the awarding bodies, this largely depends on the type of NVQ. For example, our NVQs for Glass Related Occupations and the Fenestration Installation Level 2 Diploma are awarded by the GQA (Glass Qualifications Authority).

For the vast majority of our trade NVQs, ProQual are the awarding body, which is approved by OfQual. Included in these qualifications are the Stonemason Level 2, the Architectural Metalwork Level 2, the Demolition Level 3, the Dry Lining Fixing Level 2, and a whole host more. Basically, if you’re wanting to complete a Level 2 or Level 3 Trade NVQ, it’ll probably be ProQual or NOCN- but you’ll find out on our website.
