The Experienced Worker Qualification is designed for practising electricians with at least 5 years’ industry experience who have not completed a formal apprenticeship or equivalent Level 3 NVQ. You must also hold a relevant Level 2 qualification, or have successfully completed a live Entrance Test with City & Guilds or EAL within the last 6 months.
Accepted Prerequisite Qualifications:
Your qualification will be completed through a combination of online learning via our e-portfolio platform and workplace assessments. As part of the qualification, you will complete a minimum of two live observations. One observation may be carried out remotely via live video streaming, while at least one observation will be conducted in person at your workplace by an assessor.

The Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification is a nationally recognised qualification designed for individuals who are already working in the electrical industry but do not yet hold a formal trade qualification.
It allows experienced electricians to gain official recognition of their skills and knowledge without needing to restart full training from the beginning.
This qualification is assessment-based, meaning you will build a portfolio of evidence from your real on-site work, which may include activities such as installation, testing, fault finding, and safe isolation procedures. You will also be observed in the workplace by an assessor.
It is ideal for those with substantial industry experience who want to achieve Qualified Electrician status and progress towards achieving their ECS Gold Card.
Eligibility for the Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification is based on your existing skills and on-site experience within the electrical industry.

The ECS Gold Card is the industry-recognised qualification that shows you are a fully qualified electrician in the UK. It confirms you can work unsupervised and have met the required industry standards.

The Gold Card is widely required by employers as proof that you are fully qualified to work on electrical installations without supervision.
Plan 1 – Payment in full: If you choose to pay in full, we will discount the overall cost by 10% (This offer cannot be redeemed with any other discounts or offers)
Plan 2 – 50/50 Split: Pay 50% at the start of the qualification & 50% upon completion of the qualification or after 6 months, whichever comes first.
Plan 3 – Split Into 3: 33% due at the start of the qualification, 33% due after 1 month & 33% due upon completion of the qualification or after 6 months, whichever comes first.
