Management NVQ Level 6: Senior Site Inspection

CST Training offers a wide range of National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) for those working in construction. A number of these NVQs are aimed at those in management. Just one of these courses is the Management NVQ: Level 6 Senior Site Inspection. 

The purpose of this diploma is to develop and prove your skills and knowledge in site inspection. The following blog will outline everything you need to know about the Level 6 Senior Site Inspection NVQ.

Overview of Management NVQ Level 6: Senior Site Inspection 

The Level 6 diploma covers a number of areas. These include monitoring quality, managing progress & handover, verifying health & safety, set-up & management of technical storage systems, and managing interactions. 

The Level 6 diploma is most suited to quality inspectors, site inspectors, architectural inspectors, clerk of works, and similar roles. Considering it’s a work-based qualification, you would need to be working in construction to take on the course.

If you’re not already working in a senior quality inspection or Clerk of Works role, you won’t be eligible. If you’re a Level 3 construction tradesperson, your first step towards this diploma would be the relevant Level 3 NVQ. 

To complete the Level 6 NVQ, you’ll need strong leadership & management skills, and the ability to effectively strategize and implement. 

Benefits of the Senior Site Inspection NVQ

There are numerous benefits to completing the Level 6 Senior Site Inspection NVQ. The first is that you’ll be eligible for the CSCS Black Card. The purpose of this card is to demonstrate that you’re competent in your specified occupation. The Black Card is one of the highest level CSCS cards available. 

You’ll also be eligible for membership in the Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate. As well as this, you’ll be able to apply to be a member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB).

 

Management NVQ Level 6: Senior Site Inspection with CST Training

Much like all of the NVQs available with CST Training, this diploma can be started almost immediately. You can begin the NVQ on the same day that you register. All you’ll need to register is to complete our registration form, and provide photo ID. You can complete the course remotely via our handy online portal. 

There are five main steps to completing this NVQ. Firstly, there are a set of knowledge questions, which can either be written, or discussed with your assessor. For the second step, we’ll provide you with a witness testimony document. Your line manager, or someone similar, will complete this document. 

As you complete the NVQ, you’ll be gathering evidence of the work you do. A lot of this will be documentation, like CCPS, RAMS, and commercial breakdowns. This evidence will be the third step. The fourth will be a professional discussion with your assessor. In addition, there may also be a video call with said assessor. 

With the help of CST Training, you should be able to complete the diploma within 8 to 12 weeks.
