CITB Course Dates are now live for 2023, and in today’s blog, we’ll be breaking down how each of those courses actually work.

CITB Course Dates: How Does the Site Management Safety Training Scheme Work?

We deliver the Site Management Safety Training Scheme course in a number of different ways, and you can choose which way most suits your schedule. There’s the Monday – Friday course, which is delivered via Zoom. On the other hand the day release version, also delivered via Zoom, takes place one day per week over a five-week period. The weekend version of the course will be delivered over a Saturday and a Sunday.

The SMSTS is best suited to site managers, and those who have responsibilities in organising, planning, controlling, monitoring, and administering staff. It’s an extensive course, which covers all relevant legislation that pertains to safe working practices in construction and civil engineering.

SMSTS Refresher

Once you’ve completed the SMSTS, you’ll hold your certification for five years. To remain certified, you’ll have to take the SMSTS-R (Site Management Safety Training Scheme Refresher). Your SMSTS certificate must be in date for you to complete the Refresher.

CITB Course Dates: How Does the Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme Work?

The Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme is a two-day course delivered via Zoom. You’ll have the option to do this course during the week, or over the weekend.

This course is aimed at those who have supervisory responsibilities, or those considering such a role. It covers all of the fundamentals of site supervision, including all relevant laws that pertain to health and safety.

SSSTS Refresher

Once you’ve completed the SSSTS, your certification will be valid for five years, just like with the SMSTS. You’ll then need to complete the SSSTS-R (Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme Refresher).

CITB Course Dates: How Does the Temporary Works Course Work?

The Temporary Works courses are designed for those involved in Temporary Works, but there are two types: Supervisor and Coordinator. Both courses are fully remote.

The Supervisor course is most suited to those who are, or have been, responsible for temporary works. The Coordinator course provides Senior Management, and anyone involved with the management of temporary works, with more confidence in the role.

CITB Health & Safety Awareness

The CITB HSA course can be delivered via Zoom over one day or over a weekend. We also offer bespoke packages where the course can be delivered on your company’s premises, but minimum numbers apply. These packages are available for every course we provide.

This course provides an understanding of H&S laws, and is part of the requirements to apply for the CSCS Green Labourer’s Card.
