Who’s Eligible for the CITB Employer Network?
To join the CITB Employer Network, you must be CITB-registered, have submitted your most recent levy return, and be up to date with your levy payments. Once that’s in place, all you need to do is sign CITB’s Employer Network Commitment Statement, which sets out the responsibilities of both CITB and you as the employer.
The CITB Employer Network is available to small and medium-sized employers with between 1 and 249 employees.
Large employers (250+ employees) are no longer eligible for Employer Network funding and instead access funding through the CITB Large Employer Fund. Speak to our training advisors now to receive guidance.

What’s Changing from April 2026?
CITB has updated how Employer Network funding is allocated to ensure support reaches as many businesses as possible.
Key changes:
- Employer Network funding is now limited to businesses with 1–249 employees
- Funding is capped based on company size, with annual limits in place
- CITB contributes towards training costs, typically covering around 50% of course fees, subject to these annual limits
- Large employers now access a separate £18,000 fund
- More structured and sustainable funding distribution
Annual funding allowances are now based on employer size:
- Micro (1–9): £1,500
- Small (10–49): £2,000
- Medium (50–249): £4,500
Funding for large companies (250+ Employees)
From April 2026, large employers (250+ employees) no longer access the CITB Employer Network funding.
Instead, they can apply for the CITB Large Employer Fund, which provides:
- £18,000 annual funding allowance
- Flexible use across a range of in-scope training
- A one-year funding period

CST Training Courses Funded by CITB

Funded Training: Employers receive a set yearly funding allowance to contribute towards eligible training.
Many Eligible Qualifications: In addition to CITB courses and NVQs, you can also access training such as IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid, and many more.

What is the CITB Employer Network?

Once this annual funding limit is reached, no further Employer Network funding is available for that financial year.
