Can I Do My Health and Safety Test Online?
If you’re working towards your Green Card for labouring roles in the UK construction industry, the good news is yes- you can complete the Health and Safety Test (HSA), otherwise known as the Health and Safety Awareness course, online.
It’s worth noting that this is not the same as the CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) Test for Operatives. Both of these qualifications are required if you want to apply for the CSCS Green Card.

Why Many Workers Choose Online Learning
One of the main reasons construction workers choose to complete the HSA course online is convenience. Instead of travelling to a training centre, everything takes place virtually. You simply log in from home.
This online approach also means you can save time, avoid travel costs, and complete the training without disrupting your working week too heavily. It makes the process simpler, especially for new entrants to the industry or those needing to renew their understanding of site safety rules.
How the Online Health and Safety Test Works
The online HSA course is delivered live. You’ll join a virtual classroom and take part in the same learning experience as you would in person, including discussions, examples, and assessments.
At the end of the session, you’ll complete an online assessment. Once you pass, you receive the certificate required to apply for your CSCS Green Card, provided you’ve also completed your separate HS&E touchscreen test.
